What are forces? How do they work? This half term we will be doing experiments to learn more about forces and magnets. We will be adding our findings, experiment results and photos to this page. If you learn anything new outside of the classroom you can post it to this page. Let the learning begin!
Experiment 2: Investigating the different strengths of magnets.
We predicted how many paper clips the different size magnets would pick up.
Wednesday 25th February 2015?
Learning: To understand how magnets work.
Success: I can make observations about magnets.
I can explain how magnets work using scientific vocabulary.
I can draw diagrams to show how magnets react to each other.
Today we were looking at the parts of a plant. We discussed what we already knew about them, then looked at some different varieties from our school garden and labelled them up.
We have changed the environments of 3 plants in the following ways:
A. No air.
B. No water.
C. No light.
D. Given water, light, nutrients.
What do you think is going to happen to each of the plant?
Here are the write ups we did for our Science experiment into water transportation in plants. We put wilting Celery into beakers with food colouring and predicted what would happen. The children then used annotated diagrams to explain the process and results.
